Features
Adjustable Assembly Options

Deploy as a standalone Mud Pulse tool, EM tool, or a combination as a dual-tool. Both telemetry systems can be active at the same time which has the added benefit of load sharing of logging data. Pulse or EM can be disabled as needed with seamless transitions between EM and Mud Pulse.

Bi-Directional Communication

Adjust sequences, power settings, parameters, of both Pulse and EM, it’s never been easier to make changes to a deployed tool. Select commands are saved in a quick-list, but users can add their favorites to the list.

Flash keeps you informed and in control, opening up a world of possibilities to save time and work smarter.

Split the workload

Equipped with EM and Pulse transmitters, Flash provides the unique ability to configure either telemetry system separately, so data can be delivered concurrently or split between the two transmitters, boosting the data rate significantly.

EM decoder can detect small and noisy signals

The EM transmitter pushes the boundaries of depth and speed beyond legacy EM tools, thanks to the robust surface transceiver. Signal processing algorithms can detect small, noisy signals with ease.

ICC technology uses proprietary “noisy channel” encoding algorithms to encode uplink packets. Using ICC increases the aggregate receive sensitivity of the surface receiver allowing for increased operational depths using much smaller received signals. ICC also provides “on the fly” adjustment of the EM uplink signal to maximize channel throughput and avoid ambient noise sources.

High Performance Multi-mode Surface Receiver

The Multi-Mode Surface Receiver (MMSR) is a “modally agile” receiver which automatically adjusts to the ICC content sent from the down-hole tool. The MMSR allows the tool to autonomously make adjustments to the ICC channel content without operator intervention or the need for a reverse communications channel. This gives the surface receiver greater noise immunity than conventional single-mode EM receivers which translates into better performance in unfavorable EM formations.

Seamless Switching

EM inhibitive formation challenges? Flash allows you to switch between telemetry systems seamlessly, without drilling interruptions. Forget tripping to change MWD tools—two-way communication lets you adjust down-hole tool parameters on the fly, and idle mode for the EM transmitter conserves power when not in use.
